NFN LABS · Hospital IoT Monitoring
A proposal for your hospital network

One clear view of your critical equipment

Cryostorage, blood bank, lab equipment, HVAC and power — monitored continuously, with alerts that reach the right person before a limit is crossed. Built around your four hospitals, starting with a focused, paid pilot.

Why we're proposing this

The monitoring tool you have today isn't giving you the confidence a room like this needs. Cryostorage holding eggs, sperm and embryos has zero tolerance for a missed alarm, and your blood bank, lab and power systems each carry their own regulatory requirements. This is our proposal for closing that gap — starting with the highest-risk room, then expanding across your network.

See it in action

Sentinel — an interactive concept

Explore what day-to-day monitoring could look like: equipment status across hospitals, an incident queue with a real escalation workflow, site health showing all three alarm layers, and a full exportable audit trail.

This is a working concept built to show the experience, not a finished product. It uses illustrative hospitals and sample data throughout — nothing in it is connected to your real equipment yet, and no data is retained between visits.

Built on a few simple rules

These aren't slogans — they're the specific design decisions behind every option we're proposing, detailed with sources in the technical document.

If a device goes quiet, that counts as an alarm too — silence is never mistaken for "all clear."

No single point of failure: the device, the site and the central system can each raise an alarm independently.

Every alert has a named owner, and an unacknowledged alert escalates automatically.

Unknown is never shown as safe — a sensor with no fresh data is flagged, not assumed in range.

Local protection keeps working even if the internet doesn't, at every site.

Every reading and every action is recorded, clearly and permanently, for audits and inspections.

Four ways we could build it

Each has real trade-offs — we've laid them out honestly rather than picking a favourite in advance. The right one follows a short discovery phase, not a sales pitch.

A · Configure a proven platform

Build on ThingsBoard, an established open-source IoT platform. The fastest route to a working system.

B · Build it on AWS, owned by you

A bespoke platform on AWS's core infrastructure, hosted in India. The most ownership and control, with more build time.

C · Build it on Cloudflare

A lean, modern platform matching tooling NFN Labs already uses. Elegant, but India data-residency needs checking against your policies.

D · Pair a cryo specialist with our platform

A specialist reproductive-medicine vendor covers the highest-risk room; we unify everything else into one dashboard.

What happens next

  1. Discovery

A short, paid engagement to survey your equipment, test real data feeds, and confirm what's possible before anything is built.

  2. Pilot

Cryostorage and power monitored live at one hospital, tested against a defined set of acceptance criteria — including an overnight drill.

  3. Roll out

The same design extended to your other three hospitals.

  4. Expand

Blood bank, lab and HVAC brought in, followed by predictive maintenance once enough history has been collected.
